This fabulous little apartment, just by the Paseo Maritimo Estepona beach, is something out of the ordinary. Before we arrived, the construction company had already been there with the owner to decide on the new layout of the home. The materials were already in place, as well as the new kitchen. What we did was to add extra function to the space by fitting a built-in washing machine into a kitchen island, which provided a very smart and handy solution to store the washing machine in such a limited space.
It was decided that the décor’s influence would be a Nordic feel, with light colours mixed with grey and beige. The Scandinavian design is demonstrated throughout the apartment with the large 60×60 white floor tiles.
White walls, a grey contrast wall in the bedroom and a white and grey striped wallpaper in the living area give the apartment a coherent and fresh feel.
Since it was a small sized apartment, we maximized the living conditions and utilized the space available by adding a beautiful grey foldout sofa to the living area, a built-in bookshelf with storage and a wall hung TV.
To incorporate a more cozy feeling, we added blue and geometric shaped scatter cushions as well as distinctive wall prints above the sofa. Stylish and complimentary lighting was achieved with a tripod lamp, and on the other side of the sofa we added two small tables and a tasteful table lamp.
The bedroom was decked out in soft beige and grey color scheme that gives it a warm and minimalistic look.
To make the most of the breathtaking views that this apartment features – which includes a view of Gibraltar and Morocco – as well as providing a practical way to close out the strong sunrays during hot days, we added dim-out curtains that beautifully frame the large windows.
